Aston Villa could return to Sevilla for Marcus Acuña this summer, the Spanish media says.
A story from Estadio Deportivo today claims that club chief Monchi is looking for a left-footed fullback to reinforce Unai Emery’s side this summer.
Since Aston Villa had already tried to sign Acuña last summer, it’s said that he never really left the director’s agenda.
Last summer, it was Sevilla president José Castro who turned down the transfer, as he had some personal issues with Monchi.
This time, however, Aston Villa could face a whole different scenario. That’s because both the La Liga side and the player believe it’s time for him to go.
Acuña is said to be one of the options on the table, so there’s still no information on potential talks between the clubs for the transfer.
Estadio Deportivo sound quite sure about Monchi’s search for a left-back, so we should probably keep an eye on some other names who’ll be linked to Aston Villa in the coming weeks.
Acuña is currently valued by Transfermarkt at just €4m.
