Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts is on his way to La Liga, according to reports from the Spanish media this Tuesday.
Website Fichajes has an exclusive report saying the player is joining Girona on a one-year loan deal. He’s set to sign for the club in the ‘next few hours’.
We obviously don’t normally cover Fichajes, but as they claim to have access to this info, it’s worth a shot this time, especially because local outlet Mundo Deportivo have gave them some credit too.
Mundo Deportivo adds that the player has recently turned down an offer from the Premier League so he could be featuring in La Liga this season.
By playing for Girona, the player can be easily followed by Pep Guardiola, as the club has a partnership with Manchester City.
Roberts has spent the last two seasons on loan at Celtic. He’s made 78 appearances for the Scottish side, with 18 goals scored and 26 assists made. His contract with City runs until 2020.
