Back in 2015, then Barcelona goalkeeper, now at Manchester City, goalkeeper Claudio Bravo was asking Real Sociedad, his former club, for €1.3m he believed he was owed.
According to the Spanish side, the shot stopper ‘gave up’ his 10% of the transfer fee bonus to get his transfer to Catalonia, and were rather surprised when the player’s agents made the claim, asking for the money a year later.
On Friday, Mundo Deportivo report it’s now been made official the Manchester City goalkeeper will not be getting his money, with the court ruling in Real Sociedad’s favour.
The reason behind the judge’s decision is that Claudio Bravo considerably increased his income by moving to Barcelona, suggesting he didn’t really need the money.
Moving to the Etihad last summer, the Chile international has already managed to lose his starting role under Pep Guardiola, swiftly replaced by Benfica goalkeeper Ederson in the summer.
Seemingly set to be Manchester City’s cup goalkeeper this season, Bravo did however make a brief league cameo against Liverpool, replacing his aforementioned new teammate after the Brazilian’s face met Sadio Mané’s studs.
