Manchester United reportedly made an approach for the Sevilla manager Jorge Samapoli earlier this season.

Catalan newspaper Sport has a column describing the possibilities of Barcelona choosing the Chilean manager to replace Luis Enrique at the end of the season, and mentions contact from the Glazer family.

The contacts would have happened many months ago, when Mourinho was still to convince at Old Trafford and hadn’t justified all the money he had spent in the summer market.

Sport claims that Manchester United can’t afford being out of another Champions League and a Community Shield and a League Cup are not enough for Mourinho.

It’s worth mentioning that Catalan newspapers usually take information to wind up Real Madrid or their Capturarformer employees. So we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been written purposely to go against José Mourinho.

There’s also the fact that Manchester United have just signed a three-year deal with one of the most expensive managers in the world, so sacking him after a few months in the job wouldn’t make any sense.
