Alavés right-back Kiko Femenía has reportedly reached a pre-agreement with Watford FC to join the Premier League side in the summer.

According to AS this Wednesday, the player should be signing a contract at Vicarage Road until 2020, and only ‘a major surprise’ would stop it from joining Walter Mazzarri’s team.

Femenía is having a great season for Alavés, and given that his contract with the La Liga club is expiring at the end of the season, a big competition for him was created.

AS claims that besides Alavés wanting to renew his deal, Valencia, Bétis, Villareal and Espanyol all wanted him as well, but he’s chosen Watford instead.

The 26-year-old has played for both Barcelona B and Real Madrid Castilla in the past, and even found himself unattached for the first part of the 2014/15 season.

However, he was capable of making a decent turn around in his career, and is now one of Alavés’ key pieces that helped them reach the final of the Copa del Rey, which will be played against Barcelona in May.
