As has been made very clear by the European press throughout the season, Real Madrid, especially Zinedine Zidane, are interested in Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.
The player has never hidden his affinity for the Spanish giants, yet his contractual situation at Chelsea means it will be very difficult for anyone to prise him away from Stamford Bridge.
Explaining to L’Equipe he would be staying in London next season, Hazard is trying to distance himself from transfer rumours during the 2016 Euros, but that will never stop papers from writing stories.
On Tuesday, Mundo Deportivo analyse the whole thing and say an Eden Hazard to Real Madrid transfer is ‘impossible’ considering he has four years left on his £200k/week contract and Chelsea’s reluctance to negotiate anything below €100m (£79.5m).
While such a fee is affordable for Real Madrid realistically, it isn’t if they prioritise another undeniable talent in Paul Pogba, which Mundo Deportivo seem to think they might do.
It’s a tough choice for Zidane, but considering Real Madrid already have Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale on the wings, perhaps Eden Hazard isn’t particularly needed?
That’s just us, though.
