Club Brugge have Southampton defender Wesley Hoedt ‘in their sights’ but will have to compete with Anderlecht for his signature.
That’s according to Voetbal International, who say the Dutchman looks likely to leave Southampton this summer
The centre back has spent the last two seasons out on loan from St Mary’s spending last season with Royal Antwerp in Belgium and the second half of the previous campaign with Celta Vigo.
He proved to be a hit in Belgium, and now it seems two of their biggest clubs are looking at making a move.
VI report that Club Brugge will ‘make a proposal’ to Southampton for him ‘in the coming days’, to hire the centre back with an option to buy.
They face competition from Anderlecht, but they only want to loan Hoedt, which means Southampton prefer the former at this moment in time.
Hoedt, for his part, is open to staying in Belgium after last season and may have his choice of two clubs if this latest report is to be believed.
