Galatasaray hosted Fenerbahce on Saturday night in the Istanbul derby, and the game ended goalless with no real chances for either side throughout the 90 minutes.

Speaking after the game, NTV commentator Ridvan Dilmen has praised the performance of Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina and he believes Gabonese international is a better player than fellow loanee Jean Michael Seri.

Dilmen said, via Sporx“I think Lemina is the best transfer Galatasaray have made this summer. He is a very good player. For me, he is a better player than Jean Michael Seri so I can understand why Fatih Terim left Seri out of the squad and started with Lemina. His qualities for a midfield position are very pleasing.”

Lemina was one of Galatasaray’s liveliest players at the weekend despite being taken off in the 60th minute. The Southampton owned player had couple of shots saved by Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir and his overall performance was very good.

The Turkish giants loaned the central midfielder on deadline day and they have a reported €16m redemption clause to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

There were claims the 26 year old had fallen out with the Southampton manager Ralph Hassenhüttl, with the player making it clear in the press he wanted to exit St Mary’s.
