There have been a lot of conflicting reports on the future of Napoli’s Manolo Gabbiadini. Yesterday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Aurelio De Laurentiis has given his approval to a Southampton deal worth €18m plus €2m in bonuses.

After which, reports emerged that Gabbiadini could fly to Southampton today for medical examinations.

However, according to a latest report by Calciomercato, De Laurentiis has blocked the sale of Gabbiadini to Southampton.

It’s been reported negotiations are ongoing, as Southampton want to complete a deal for €17m plus bonuses based on goals. Napoli’s director of sport Cristiano Guintoli is expected to arrive in Milan today to meet the representatives of Southampton and Gabbiadini.

All parties will try to unlock the situation, and it remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached before tomorrow’s deadline day, and with enough time for Gabbiadini to travel to England and complete a medical with Southampton.
