Southampton midfielder Carlos Alcaraz has completed his medicals ahead of a last-minute move to Juventus.
That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who reports that the youngster is edging towards the move to Italy, attaching a picture of the player smiling.
Reports today have indicated that Juventus are closing in on a deal for Alcaraz after making a surprise move for him yesterday.
They’ve now finalised a deal with Southampton that will see the midfielder join the Italian giants on an initial loan deal, which Juventus will pay for, and have an option to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer for around €45m.
A deal has been edging closer to completion since the agreement was struck and Di Marzio reports the latest big step has been taken as the player has completed his medicals ahead of the move.
The next step, it would seem, would be to sign his contract and seal his temporary exit from Southampton before catching a flight to Italy to link up with his new club.
It then remains to be seen if he can make a success of the loan deal in the second half of the season, with it reported that Juventus have been incentivised to play him regularly to avoid paying more to Southampton in the initial loan agreement.
He’ll therefore presumably have his chance to impress and perhaps secure the Saints their latest biggest departure in the summer.
