Southampton midfielder Carlos Alcaraz has admitted that the language barrier remains his biggest problem at the club following his move in January.

The youngster has been speaking to D Sports Radio, relayed by TyC Sports, about his former club Racing Club and life at Southampton so far.

The 20-year-old joined the Saints from the Argentine outfit in a €13.65m deal in the January transfer window after impressing in his homeland and earning plenty of admiring glances from Europe.

He’s been a big hit at Southampton so far, managing three goals and one assists in 14 Premier League games despite them struggling at the bottom of the table.

He appears to have adapted well to life outside of his homeland so far, despite the fact the move to Southampton is the first transfer away from Argentina in his career.

It seems there is one aspect he is struggling with at this moment in time, though, and that is the language barrier.

“What I find most difficult is the language, I can’t communicate well with my teammates,” he said.

“Playing here is a very big dream. Today we are in a bad moment, but we have a chance to stay in the Premier League.”
