After last night’s win over Liverpool in the League Cup semi-finals, Southampton could be celebrate with a transfer boost in their alleged pursuit of Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini.
Southampton have been linked to the Italian star over the past few weeks, and latest reports in Italy suggest the Serie A club want €20m for Gabbiadini, which is a drop in price.
It has been reported the Premier League side have made an offer of around €16m plus €3m in bonuses for the 25-year-old, but Napoli are reluctant to accept that. over the past week it’s also been reported Southampton have offered more and many of the claims are contradictory.
According to an exclusive on Calciomercato.it, Southampton have reached an agreement with Gabbiadini and are trying to negotiate a deal with Napoli.
Calciomercato say Southampton are keen to wrap up the deal as soon as possible, but it remains to be seen if both the sides can reach an agreement.
Borrusia Monchengladbach are also keen on the services of Gabbiadini, but have been left behind by Southampton in the race to sign the Italian forward.
