Leganes have been trying to sign Southampton’s Guido Carrillo since the start of the transfer window, but are yet to get the deal over the line.
Espanyol are now been linked with the 28-year-old. Earlier today, we carried a report from AS, who explained the Catalan club have been offered an opportunity to sign the Argentine.
Pericos Online add to the story by claiming the Saints attacker remains a target for Espanyol alongside former West Ham flop Jonathan Calleri and he would have already said ‘yes’ to join them.
Espanyol have the resources to sign both South Americans on permanent transfer, but will only take that option if they believe they can sell the players in the future. If not, they might look into loan deals.
Southampton paid €20m to AS Monaco for Carrillo in January 2018 and AS reported on Tuesday the Premier League club are demanding €7-8m to sanction his sale.
With Espanyol being talked about as a potential destination for Carrillo, it remains to be seen whether or not Leganes will step up their efforts to sign him.
