Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola now shares an update on the situation of Southampton defender Lyanco.
With the centre-back unlikely to stay at St Mary’s for next season, he’s now being linked to a list of clubs from his home country.
According to Nicola, the Southampton player was ‘suggested’ to four Brazilian clubs. Those are Botafogo, Corinthiams, Flamengo and Vasco da Gama.
Botafogo reportedly turned down the chance right away, as they have no money to invest in that type of signing.
Corinthians and Flamengo are yet to give their answers, although people close to Lyanco told Nicola his name is being analysed by the first club.
As for Vasco, as previously reported, the club made a bid for a loan with a buying clause, and Southampton are still to give their response.
With Lyanco’s entourage offering him around like this, it seems clear the player has no future with Saints, where he has a contract running until 2025.
It also makes sense that Southampton wait for all the offers on the table before they give Vasco an answer.
