Southampton are currently leading the race to sign Como striker Iván Azón, with their bid considering the strongest on the table.

Southampton bid the strongest
The newspaper carries comments from Mirwan Suwarso, president of Como 1907. He is already celebrating their deal for Iván Azón and a potential big profit this summer.
“We bought Iván Azón for two million and now we’ve already received an offer of 10 million for him,” he is quoted as saying.
According to the newspaper, Southampton have made a €10m big for Iván Azón this summer. The two clubs, Southampton and Como, are in the early stages of negotiations. But the Saints bid is currently the strongest on the table. There is also a loan bid from an unnamed side in Spain.
At this moment in time, ‘everything suggests’ he may return to the Championship after a loan spell at Ipswich Town last season.
Transfer confidence
In fact, Southampton’s proposal is the one that is ‘furthest advanced’ from the player’s perspective too. While talks are at an early stage, the impression from both the player and the two clubs is that the deal could go through.
He is seemingly happy to return to England’s second flight after his time at Ipswich last year. He managed five goals and four assists in 38 games for the Tractor Boyson loan.
They had an option to sign him on a permanent basis but decided not use that clause, valued at €15m, this summer. He’s returned to Como but does not appear to be in Cesc Fabregas’ plans. The Italian side are happy to let him depart.
Now a deal with Southampton appears to be progressing. Their bid is the strongest. There’s confidence on all sides that the move can go through sooner rather than later.
