Carlos Alcaraz’s exit from Southampton has been coming for a while now, with interest from Italy not having led to anything concrete.

Flamengo have made a decisive move for the Southampton midfielder and they have inched quite close to landing him, with the Brazilian side not expected to face any issues in signing the player.

He was set to undergo a medical in England before flying to Brazil.

Journalist Bruno Lemos has now reported that the ex-Juventus man has successfully undergone his medical and his contract with the Brazilian side has already been signed.

Now, the Southampton man will complete a move and will arrive in Brazil at 6pm tomorrow.

Alcaraz will depart the Saints on a permanent basis and it could be a record deal for Flamengo.

The Argentine played ten league games for Juventus in his loan stint last season, after being a regular for Southampton. This is now a chance for him to start afresh, and Bruno Lemos reported yesterday that Alcaraz will be travelling with his agent, girlfriend, personal physical trainer… and his pet dog.
