Southampton have lowered their demands for striker Paul Onuachu to €10m, with negotiations continuing with Trabzonspor over a permanent deal for the striker.
That’s according to journalist Reşat Can Özbudak, who reports that Southampton have lowered their demands in an attempt to get rid of the striker.
Onuachu spent last season on loan with the Turkish side and proved to be a big success, bagging 17 goals and four assists in 25 games in total.
Trabzonspor would like to sign him on a permanent basis and have been talking to Southampton to make that happen for months.
There has been little movement on the matter, though, as Southampton’s demands, and attempts to recoup as much of their money as they can, have been met with reluctance from Trabzonspor.
They have taken the usual Turkish route when it comes to a transfer, preferring not to spend their money, or as little as possible.
The latest report indicated there was some positivity coming from the ongoing negotiations and Reşat Can Özbudak continues that today, stating Southampton have lowered their demands for the striker to €10m.
It seems their stubbornness has been ended and they’re now willing to accept less to try and finally get a deal over the line for the striker.
Whether that figure is low enough to finally convince Trabzonspor to spend their money remains to be seen, but it appears to be the latest positive step towards Onuachu moving to Turkey permanently.
