Southampton have joined Feyenoord in the race for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Facundo Buonanotte this summer.
Three days ago, 1908.nl reported the Dutch club have agreed a loan deal with Brighton, and have been sorting out details with the attacking midfielder.
A fresh report from 1908.nl claims Southampton have entered the battle for the 19-year-old.
He could struggle for regular minutes at The Amex as Fabian Hürzeler has several options at his disposal.
Therefore, the Argentina international is ‘most likely’ to go out on loan, and has to decide between Southampton and the Eredivisie side.
Feyenoord have found an agreement with the Seagulls and the player, and it’s now down to the South American and his camp to pick between the Dutch club and the Saints.
The website says Samuel Amo-Ameyaw is the only right winger at Russell Martin’s disposal. A move to St Mary’s could see Buonanotte feature regularly next season.
On the other hand, he can fight for trophies and play in the Champions League football at the Dutch club. Brighton would favour the player joining Feyenoord, who want a response shortly.
The report says Southampton, Feyenoord, Buonanotte and his camp are ‘facing a crucial week’, and this would indicate a decision could be made in the next few days.
