Southampton have agreed a fee of €18m plus €2m in bonuses with Lille for Sofiane Boufal, reports L’Equipe on Saturday.

The Ligue 1 club will also receive 15% of any potential future sale of the player, and a deal is now expected to be completed quickly.

L’Equipe say Boufal’s future was settled yesterday, late in the afternoon, after the player returned from Doha.

The Moroccan international has agreed to sign for Southampton, and is now expected to travel to England for his medical examinations.

It is reported Watford made a ‘desperate attempt’ to sign Boufal, whilst Leicester City also showed last minute interest in the player, but he’s set to sign for Southampton.

Earlier, L’Equipe claimed Southampton had offered the player a contract worth €2.8m/season.

The deal should be completed over the weekend, as clubs don’t want to delay any incomings with the transfer window about to close next week.
