Here’s one more report saying Thiago Silva has agreed to join Chelsea.

Brazilian journalist Marcelo Bechler, from Esporte Interativo, now says the defender is signing a two-year deal with the Blues.

The story says Thiago Silva ‘is already a Chelsea player’, and is having his medical on Thursday to make the move official.

The 35 year old is leaving Paris Saint Germain at the end of his contract, so he arrives at the Stamford Bridge as a free signing.

Other reports from Brazil had already claimed that Thiago Silva’s move to Chelsea was pretty much done.

Earlier this week, journalist Paulo Vinícius Coelho wrote a piece on his blog claiming that it was Frank Lampard who asked for the defender’s arrival.

The manager reportedly sees Thiago Silva as a ‘dressing room leader’, and wants him to be Chelsea’s captain for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, the defender sees the Blues as a club where he can stay in the limelight and be called up for the World Cup in 2022. He’ll be 38 years of age by then.
