Wolvers remain at the centre of the Jhon Arias discussion in Brazil, but the latest updates suggest the decision is not fully in the clubs’ hands yet. While interest grows, the player himself has not made up his mind… again.

According to journalist Raisa Simplicio, several Brazilian clubs have approached Arias in recent weeks. Even so, those involved still need to convince the Colombian that returning to Brazil now makes sense.

A source close to the player explained that Arias’ thinking goes beyond football. Despite Wolves’ struggles, his project is described as personal as well as sporting. That factor keeps him inclined to stay in England, at least until the end of the season.

Recent performances have also helped his confidence. Over his last five matches, Arias scored twice and provided one assist. Those numbers strengthen his belief that he can still make an impact, even with the team’s difficult situation.

Raisa Simplicio adds that Arias does have offers on the table. However, he still needs to be persuaded about an immediate return to Brazilian football.

Wolves player has a foot in both camps

At club level, Gazeta Esportiva reported that Brazilian side Palmeiras have made progress in recent hours towards a definitive agreement for Arias.

According to the report, the deal is now closer to a positive outcome and could reach a conclusion in the coming days. Arias is considered a priority for Palmeiras and they will go for a January move. And they reportedly had a ‘green light’ from Arias in recent days.

So taken together, the updates highlight the tension in the plot. Palmeiras continue to edge forward. Arias, however, still weighs his options carefully. And Wolves remain the setting for a decision shaped as much by personal plans as by negotiations between clubs.

Right now, Arias appears to want to keep a foot in both the staying and leaving camps.
