Marseille’s search for a big name striker started before the window opened, and if they’re not careful it’ll continue after the window has closed.
The French club will now almost certainly regret hyping up the idea that a big name was on the way in to lead Marseille’s attack, and the pressure continues to mount.
In their Wednesday edition, L’Equipe once again bring a list of possible options, and Liverpool’s Divock Origi remains one of the frontrunners.
A deal would likely be a loan from Liverpool, and L’Equipe say Marseille are set to face plenty of competition.
A source close to the player told L’Equipe: “Liverpool is blocking a move for now because they are waiting to recruit before giving their green light.”
With just a day of the window left once the sun goes down, there’s not a lot of time for these dominoes to start falling.
