It looks like Gabriel Martinelli isn’t the only Brazilian youngster who Arsenal are signing this summer.
According to UOL today, the Gunners are also adding the former Corinthians midfielder Luigi Gaspar to the club.
As you’ve probably realised by reading that surname, yes, the player is the son of Edu Gaspar, who joined the club as a technical director earlier this summer.
UOL claims that ‘Eduzinho’ had been doing well for Corinthians, where he’s a starter in the U15 team, but is now moving to London with his dad.
Unlike his father, Luigi is right-footed. He can play as a central or advanced midfielder.
After being part of Arsenal’s Invincibles squad, Edu Gaspar finished his career playing for Corinthians and also had a role as a director at the Brazilian club before taking the job at the national team.
So he definitely likes to keep his son close to where he’s working, which is perfectly understandable.
