Manchester United have identified Atalanta’s Éderson as one of the midfielder targets for the summer.
Over the past week, several claims covered Manchester United’s attempt to sign the 26-year-old.
Four days ago, Sport Witness relayed news the Premier League side are confident of bringing him and Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali to Old Trafford.
Later that day, we covered claims from Italy that the Red Devils are close to sealing the deal for Éderson for around €50m.
The Serie A side settled for a 1-1 draw in their last league clash of the season against Fiorentina on Friday. The Brazil international finished this tie as an unused substitute.
That’s because the negotiations with Manchester United have entered the decisive phase.
Manchester United interest ‘source of pride’
La Dea manager Raffaele Palladino dropped a hint of Manchester United talks for Éderson.
He talked about this when asked about the Brazil international’s omission and TuttoMercatoWeb have relayed his comments.
“It was a decision made in consultation with the player because there’s something going on in the transfer market. The fact that such a major club follows the player should be a source of pride,” he said.
TMW insists the manager is talking about Manchester United, who quickly move forward to secure the player’s services.
Journalist Niccolò Ceccarini, writing in his column for TuttoMercatoWeb, the operation to take South American to Old Trafford is at an advanced stage.
“After the sale of Lookman in January, Atalanta will soon say goodbye to Éderson,” he said.
“The Brazilian is ready for another adventure. The deal with Manchester United is nearing completion. In short, Atalanta is preparing for another huge cash-in, a €50m deal.”
“And speaking of midfielders, the Red Devils are close to reaching an agreement with Newcastle for Sandro Tonali.”
