On Friday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso is back on Napoli’s transfer agenda.
This is echoed by today’s Il Mattino when explaining that the Serie A side are still in the market for a new midfielder.
Napoli are in the picture to sign the Tottenham player and the report states ‘watch out for an attempt to convince’ Spurs to let go of the 27-year-old on a loan deal.
They add the Italian champions are ready to offer a €4m loan fee, and then €14m ‘for the redemption’.
The Argentina international currently earns €4.3m per year and it’s claimed Napoli would like Ange Postecoglou’s side to pay half of his salary. Spurs, however, would prefer to sell Lo Celso.
Il Mattino say ‘something is moving’ between now and the end of the window, and this would suggest Garcia’s side still haven’t given up on signing the player.
Lo Celso hasn’t featured in the first two games this season. He would be hoping to change that when Tottenham face AFC Bournemouth later today.
On Friday, Postecoglou admitted the South American has been “unlucky” not to feature so far and said he’s been “really impressed” with the player.
