Former Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici was linked with a move to AC Milan in the last few weeks.
Yesterday, it emerged that a move to the Italian giants will not go through and Milan will now look at other names to fill their sporting director vacancy, amidst what has been a poor season for the Rossoneri.
There was talk in Italy that Tottenham had come back in to hire Paratici and now some conspiracies are emerging about why Milan dropped out of the chase.
Corriere dello Sport journalist Ivan Zazzaroni has written about it and he accused Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani of carelessness and a lack of awareness in his approach.
He wrote, as relayed by MilanLive: “Dear Furlani, when you started talking to Paratici to bring him to Milan, were you unaware of the fact that the disqualification of the former Juve sporting director would expire on July 20?”
Zazzaroni also theorised that someone put pressure on Paratici to not go to Milan and this has played a role in his future still being uncertain.
“For days I have been absolutely convinced that someone put pressure on Paratici not to end up at Milan . But now I ask: once a temporary disqualification has been served does a man have the right to start again or, on the contrary, is he sentenced to a life sentence at work?”
There is clearly confusion in Italy about really has happened in the situation and there has been talk of there being a bad relationship between Furlani and club advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
It remains to be seen if Tottenham will come back in for Paratici or not but if they did make an approach for him in the last few weeks, it will be interesting to see if the sporting director still has a future in London or not.
