Sunderland are close to agreeing a deal with AS Roma for Enzo Le Fée, with the clubs working on a ‘solution that satisfies both parties’.

That’s according to Roma Giallorossa, who report that talks between Sunderland and Roma are now ‘close to conclusion’.

According to their information, a deal between the two clubs is expected to be finalised on the basis of a loan with an obligation to buy which will be triggered if Sunderland achieve promotion to the Premier League.

This is seen as the ‘solution that satisfies both parties’ as Roma will be able to get rid of a player who has not found space in their squad and Sunderland will gain a player who can strengthen their midfield with an element of ‘quality and perspective’.

Le Fée is also a player Regis Le Bris knows well, having worked with him in the past in France. In fact, Le Fée’s best season came under the Sunderland boss.

The move to the Stadium of Light is seen as a new opportunity for the midfielder to relaunch himself and ‘demonstrate his worth’ and it seems he is more than happy to take it and play in the Championship until the end of the season under his former manager.
