Manchester United did not receive an offer from Everton for Donny van de Beek at any point in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has dismissed speculation about a potential move to Goodison Park.

Van de Beek has had a miserable time of it at Manchester United since arriving from Ajax last summer, failing to establish himself in Solskjaer’s plans at any point.

It’s led to persistent speculation about his future, with it believed the Dutchman is far from happy with life in Manchester and ready to move on.

Everton have been named as a potential destination for much of this year, and his agent named them as an option, something later confirmed by director of football Marcel Brands.

A move never happened, reportedly because he couldn’t agree with Rafa Benitez on the midfielder, but the comments from both were seen as them paving the way for a potential move in January.

Now it’s Solskjaer’s turn to comment, and he insists there was no offer from Everton for Manchester United to turn down.

“We have never received an offer from Everton, but there is always speculation,” he told RTL 7, relayed by Ajax Showtime.

“For me, he is a Manchester United player. He just keeps working really hard every day.

“Donny has the quality, when he plays, that he knows how to open doors. He is so clever, but I think Bruno (Fernandes) is okay too.
