Joshua Zirkzee should be wary about joining Manchester United given their recent struggles, but the same cannot be said of Arsenal.
That’s according to journalist Emanuel Corazzi, who has fired shots at the Gunners as the transfer circus starts to build around Zirkzee.
The striker has been heavily linked with a move away from Bologna this summer after an impressive season in Italy in which he was undoubtedly one of the stars under Thiago Motta’s surprise package.
Clubs across Europe are interested in his signature, including in the Premier League, where Arsenal and Manchester United have both been credited with an interest.
Arsenal were the first to make moves for him as they seek out a striker this summer, while Manchester United have reportedly reactivated their old interest in the last few days as talks with AC Milan have not progressed.
That’s reportedly due to the player’s demands, specifically his agents, who are believed to be demanding huge fees to help push the transfer through with Milan, something which the Italian side are reluctant to pay.
In the meantime, Manchester United seem to be interested once again, but Corazzi can understand why Zirkzee might be hesitant.
“If there is a team that has ruined a player’s career in recent years, it is Manchester United,” he said.
“Of all those who went there, in the end Hojlund is too young and too strong to say, so we have to wait, but everyone else…
“If I were in Zirkzee, if you tell me “Look Arteta wants you at Arsenal to play centre-forward”, I can understand that you’ll have doubts if United calls you…”
