Liverpool have tied up a deal for Arne Slot’s assistant Sipke Hulshoff to join him at Anfield this summer.
That’s according to Soccer News, who say the Feyenoord coach will be following the manager to Liverpool after an agreement was struck.
They cover reports from Leeuwarder Courant and other sources in the Netherlands, who say Hulshoff will be signing a three-year deal to link up with Slot again.
A deal has now been done for Hulshoff after he passed up on joining the Netherlands for Euro 2024 this summer so he could go with Slot to Liverpool.
He’s worked alongside Slot since the summer of 2022 and the pair are keen to continue that relationship as Slot arrives to replace Jurgen Klopp.
Like with Slot, it will be a major step up for the Dutchman, who has so far had a varied career working as a youth manager and then assistant manager at SC Cambuur, FC Volendam and then Feyenoord, as well as joining Ronald Koeman’s backroom staff for the Netherlands in January 2023.
His time at Cambuur saw him working alongside René Hake from 2015 to 2018 and he’s full of praise for his former assistant.
“He is loyal to people and works very hard in a world that means everything to him. He is tactically very strong,” he said
“The pressure is not directly on Sipke but much more on the head coach. So that’s much better for Sipke. He can just do his job. I don’t know why he wouldn’t be a success.”
