Earlier this month, Het Laatste Nieuws reported Liverpool have PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko on their agenda for the summer window.
The winger has scored 14 goals and registered 14 assists and was instrumental in helping the Eredivisie side win the title this season.
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say several clubs have the 21-year-old on their radar, including Liverpool.
The Reds’ interest in the player isn’t new as they have been following him since March 2023.
Tavolieri adds the Belgium international’s name is ‘validated’ by new manager Arne Slot and Liverpool head of scouting Barry Hunter.
Bakayoko, who has a contract until 2026, is ‘very likely’ to move after the Euros, and his priority is to join a Champions League team. Liverpool can offer that if he were to join them.
According to the journalist, the Dutch champions are aiming to collect €50m, but the deal can be concluded for a ‘lower fee’. The PSV star could also join Borussia Dortmund or RB Leipzig in the next window.
As well as Bakayoko, Barcelona’s Raphinha is also on the Merseyside club’s list. Mohamed Salah could leave Anfield and this has seen Liverpool look for options in the market.
