Two days ago, Djurgårdens IF Fotboll star Lucas Bergvall stated it’s difficult for him to keep his mind off his impending move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Back in February, the north London club had already agreed a deal with Djurgårdens IF for the 18-year-old to arrive at Spurs in the summer.
The incoming Tottenham player’s last tie with the Swedish club will be against Hammarby on June 2nd.
At the weekend, the midfielder scored a brace in his side’s 3-1 win over Mjällby AIF, and he had a chat with Fotbollskanalen after the tie.
Bergvall will leave Djurgården for Tottenham soon and on the impending move, he said: “It is of course a bit sad to leave Djurgårdens IF. At the same time, it’s a new adventure and that’s how football is.”
The tie against Mjällby saw the Sweden international come up against, Jacob Bergström, his former teammate at Djurgården IFs, and the 1.91m tall Mjällby striker has pointed out about Bergvall’s physical development.
“He pushed me down in a tackle, that says it all. That he’s not just a nice little player who’s good with the ball, but it’s almost everything, I think. A nice person, great guy. He spices it up with the fact that he has gained a lot of kilos,” Bergström explained.
The young star will start training under Ange Postecoglou’s orders from pre-season and will be eager to impress the manager, so he includes him in his plans at Tottenham next season.
Djurgårdens IF sporting director Bosse Andersson is pleased with the manner in which the player has handled himself after a deal was agreed with Spurs and has now backed him to have a bright future ahead.
“Now there’s only one game left, the spring has gone quite quickly from the time we agreed with Tottenham. The way he’s handled this whole period, since he was signed on February 2nd, he’s done it in a fantastic way and really shown that he’s a great player who has an incredibly bright future. The sky is the limit,” Andersson added.
