Nottingham Forest are ‘unlikely’ to spend the €4.5m to sign Divock Origi permanently from AC Milan this summer given his struggles back in the Premier League.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say it is a ‘situation in the making’ when it comes to the Belgian’s future.
Origi joined Nottingham Forest on loan from Milan in the summer but has struggled to make any impact since his arrival, with just nine appearances in the Premier League and 10% of the available minutes under his belt.
The belief throughout January was that the deal would be cancelled, and he could elsewhere but that never happened and now it remains to be seen what happens moving forwards.
Calciomercato cover that today and say Milan are keeping a ‘careful eye’ on the player and those out on loan who could bring in money down the line.
Origi is one such player as his loan deal at Nottingham Forest includes a €4.5m option to buy but CM say that it is ‘unlikely’ that will be activated.
That’s because he’s been unable to convince at Nottingham Forest and so it seems they won’t be particularly keen to sign him on a permanent basis any time soon.
It’s a ‘situation in the making’ as the striker could turn things around in the second half of the season, but for now that looks unlikely, even if he did find the back of the net against Bristol City in the FA Cup.
