Tanguy Ndombele has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur since not long after he joined the London club from Lyon.
The midfielder is clearly very talented and has shown that to supporters on repeat occasions, but managers have been frustrated with a lack of consistency and intensity from the player.
This month has seen repeat claims of a potential loan deal, with multiple sides in Italy thought to have varying degrees of interest in moving for such a transfer.
Wednesday’s edition of L’Equipe takes a look at France players, or potential members of Didier Deschamps’ World Cup squad, who have their futures in doubt, and Ndombele gets a mention.
It’s explained the ‘situation is delicate’ and that Tottenham would be in favour of him leaving the club this month. AS Roma and Napoli are credited with interest, with the Serie A pair positioning themselves for a loan signing.
For that to happen, the obstacle is the player’s big salary. Either Daniel Levy would have to feel generous and agree for Spurs to cover part of the player’s wages during or loan, or Ndombele himself would have to take a pay cut.
