If you follow the transfer rumours on a daily basis, a clear trend is emerging when it comes to Manchester United and who their main centre-back target is.
That’s Gleison Bremer, currently contracted to Juventus, as Gazzetta dello Sport provide an update on the Red Devils’ interest in the Brazilian on Monday.
They say the ‘sirens are coming’ from Manchester United in England for the defender, as the club managed by Erik ten Hag have ‘identified’ the 26-year-old as a ‘fundamental reinforcement’ for the upcoming season.
In fact, the Old Trafford side ‘would be willing to put on the table an offer’ that ‘cannot be refused’, which appears to have set a few alarm bells ringing in Turin.
While Juventus do consider Bremer as one of their key players in their squad, it’s explained that offers ‘exceeding €60m’ would be difficult to turn down once the summer transfer window opens.
They also know the defender has an ambition to play in the Premier League, which could see him eventually push for a move should Manchester United’s interest become materialistically concrete.
His exit ‘would oblige’ the director of football in place at Juventus, Cristiano Giuntoli, to find at least one replacement on the transfer market for their star, and it’s said they have been ‘moving for several weeks’ to find suitable profiles.
In short, it seems the Serie A side are bracing themselves for a likely Bremer exit, and Manchester United are the ones looming over them, money at the ready.
