Thousands of Tottenham fans are currently in Madrid ahead of their club’s big Champions League match at the Bernabeu tonight, and so far it’s all going well.

Madrid has experience of fans behaving badly and of a police force often ready to go way over the top in their response, but it’s all been good natured and fun so far.

The Spanish media have been reporting on Tottenham fans drinking around central Madrid, and singing, but one of the ‘tribute’ songs has made it to the French media.

On Tuesday, both L’Equipe and France Football report that Tottenham fans have been singing the praises of Moussa Sissoko, quite literally. This is news in France because it wasn’t thought Spurs supporters are great backers of the midfielder, who has taken over a year to impress Mauricio Pochettino.

Tottenham fans have been videoed singing, to the tune (perhaps tune isn’t the right word) of Wake Me Up Before You GoGo… Who Needs Bale When You’ve Got Sissoko?

France Football say: ‘Tottenham fans do not seem to miss their former Welsh attacker’

There’s probably some English humour been lost on the French here.
