Algeria international Ramy Bensebaini will have an opportunity to face Riyad Mahrez, when Borussia Mönchengladbach face Manchester City in the Champions League tie next week.
Bensebaïni has given an interview to BBC Afrique, discussing what it’s like to face the City winger and several other topics.
At the end of interview, the defender reveals he has long been a supporter of Manchester United.
Although admitting he is happy with the Bundesliga side, the 25-year-old, who expressed his admiration for the Premier League, stressed he will consider the option to move to England if an opportunity arises.
“The Premier League has always attracted me. Everyone knows I’ve been a Manchester United fan since I don’t know when, since I was a little kid, but I’m in Gladbach,” he said.
“I feel good, everyone is happy with me. If one day I have the opportunity to go to England, I will think about it, but for now, I’m fine here.”
Marco Rose has used the AFCON winner as a left-back/left wing-back, while he can also operate in the heart of the back four.
Last summer, United strengthened the left side of the defence by signing Alex Telles from FC Porto, and with the left-back position covered by the Brazilian and Luke Shaw, it’s highly unlikely Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will consider making an approach for Bensebaini when the window reopens at the end of this season.
Then again, you never know in football.
