Nathaniel Brown

Manchester United are firmly in the mix for Eintracht Frankfurt’s breakout star Nathaniel Brown, with the German club privately accepting that a summer exit is nailed on.

The 22-year-old left-back has exploded onto the European scene after an impressive full debut for Germany in the 2-1 win over Ghana. That performance earned rave reviews from Joshua Kimmich.

It also left Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche declaring Brown is “already one of the best full‑backs in Europe” to BILD.

Manchester United have been tracking him all season, and the timing could not be better. With the club in search of a new long-term left-back, Brown is an attractive option.

€65-70m transfer incoming

Markus Krösche is demanding between €65-70m for the Germany international this summer. That would make him the most expensive left-back in the world.

A transfer is becoming ‘increasingly likely’. BILD have learned that no one at Frankfurt thinks Brown will stay this summer. There’s an acceptance that he’s ‘simply too good’.

Several world-class clubs, including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are named. Manchester United are also in the mix.

A report in November added them to the list of admirers. It was revived last month, with a €60m floated and described as perfect for Eintracht Frankfurt.

No concrete talks have happened yet. Brown will decide his future after the season. He is focusing less on the money and more on who offers him the best prospects. He wants playing time.

Manchester United perspective

Manchester United could certainly offer the 22-year-old regular playing time. They’ve needed a left-back for a while and it will be a position they target this summer.

€60m is a big price, but Brown could fill the role for a decade or more. He’s very much a long-term prospect and already proving his worth at this point.

Frankfurt are certainly preparing for him to leave, and rubbing their hands as Brown continues to shine, this time on the international stage.
