Kieran Trippier left Tottenham Hotspur and completed a switch to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

Two days ago, we covered claims from Spain that Angel Correa could be part of the deal that will see the right-back join the Spanish capital club. This was also relayed by Sky Sports.

AS on Thursday only focuses on claims that were made in England about the possibility of Correa being included as a part of the deal for Trippier.

It’s claimed this option didn’t please Diego Simeone’s side nor the Champions League runners-up.

It doesn’t mean the north London club are not keeping an eye on the Argentine. Mauricio Pochettino’s side get a mention again in today’s report as they are one of the clubs ‘interested’ in Correa.

With Correa making it clear he wants a summer move, the attacker is on the ‘exit ramp’.

It would be a gamble, given the player’s relative lack of progression, but if Pochettino trusts him then it’s a gamble worth taking for Tottenham.
