Rangers are set to complete a deal for Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers, with an ‘upward proposal’ in place and a deal likely.
That’s according to La Provincia, relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, who say that the player’s transfer to Ibrox is ‘to be finalised’ and he’ll be joining Michael Beale’s squad.
Beale is seemingly on the hunt for a replacement for Alfredo Morelos, who has now officially left Rangers after his contract came to an end.
He already has strikers Fashion Sakala, Antonio Colak, Kemar Roofe and Sam Lammers at his disposal but now looks set to add Dessers to that list, with La Provincia insisting ‘only the signature is awaited’ for the move to be completed.
Dessers managed six goals and two assists in 26 games in Serie A last season and finished the campaign with ten goals and three assists in 32 games in all competitions.
That’s been enough to convince Rangers that the 28-year-old is good enough for them and to bolster their forward line ahead of Champions League football next season.
A deal is now seemingly in place and requiring only a signature to be completed, as Beale looks to strengthen his squad in this window.
