Celtic have completed the signings of Julián Araujo and Tomáš Čvančara in the winter market so far. Martin O’Neill has publicly requested those above him bring more new players to Celtic Park before the window closes today.

Celtic are working on multiple operations on deadline day, after doing initial groundwork.

Last week, initial claims from the UK reported on Celtic’s offer for Frosinone Calcio’s Farès Ghedjemis.

Three days ago, we covered claims from Italy that Frosinone fans panicked over the rapid approach from O’Neill’s side for the 23-year-old. Earlier today, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Celtic made a final offer of €6m.

Sport Mediaset journalist Orazio Accomando took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to cover the latest. He has a short but an important update Celtic’s pursuit of the Frenchman.

Accomando talks about Celtic’s offer and it being ‘significantly lower’ than the fee demanded by the Serie B side. The journalist makes no mention of the fee proposed by the Scottish club or Frosinone’s request.

It may not matter as Accomando now states the player is close to staying with the Italian club.

Tutto Frosinone pick up on that and add that the Celtic target will be at the Italian club beyond this window.

The outlet claims Ghedjemis has attracted strong interest from numerous clubs, without a mention of Celtic or any other team. Despite this, he will continue at the club at least until the end of the season.

According to Tutto Frosinone, discussions regarding Ghedjemis’ sale have been postponed until the summer. Therefore, the second division Italian side can breathe a ‘sigh of relief’.’

The attacker has scored eight goals and contributed two assists from 22 Serie B matches this season.
