Everton are unlikely to sign Marko Arnautovic from Bologna this month, with their current situation meaning they ‘have low attractive power’.
That’s according to TuttoBolognaWeb, who say there ‘shouldn’t be any surprises’ regarding the Austrian striker’s future.
Everton are desperately looking for a new striker this month, having struggled for goals this season with Neal Maupay and Dominic Calvert-Lewin as their forward options.
They have been linked with strikers all over Europe as a result, with Italy seemingly in their focus and reports linking them to Duvan Zapata and Arnautovic.
The website back that up and say Everton are ‘sounding out’ the Italian market, making offers for a loan with a right of redemption for Beto at Udinese and Zapata at Atalanta.
Both of those have been rejected and they moved on to Arnautovic, but the belief is that there ‘should be no surprises’ when it comes to him either.
Bologna are keen to keep hold of him after keeping him out of Manchester United’s clutches in the summer; a short lived pursuit that ended up with Austrian signing a new and adjusted contract.
They consider Arnautovic as ‘non-transferable’ and even more so in the face of ‘unprofitable formulas’ such as the one proposed by Everton, who have ‘little attractive power’ at this point.
Furthermore, it would not make sense for them to lose their strongest player this month; another factor which should put an end to any potential move to Goodison Park.
