As Sofyan Amrabat prepares to what is probably the biggest game in his career, as Morocco are about to face France in the World Cup semifinals, his name continues to get several mentions in the rumour mill.
The Fiorentina midfielder has heavily been linked to Liverpool, with many stories in the Italian media reporting the Reds’ wish to sign him in the coming months.
The Anfield side’s effort to sign Amrabat is today highlighted by journalist Ciro Venerato on 1 Station Radio. There he was asked about the 26-year-old’s future, and claimed that Liverpool are now working to beat their rivals for the signing.
“Liverpool are moving to anticipate the competition from Tottenham and sign Amrabat, a profile also associated with Napoli,” Venerato told 1 Station Radio (via Tutto Juve).
That’s the case of former Fiorentina manager Giovanni Galli, who was interviewed by Lady Radio and talked about the possibility of the midfielder’s move to Anfield.
“I already find it more difficult to think of him in Liverpool, where there are Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara. I don’t see him very well there, if the tasks are those of construction and restarting a team, he has some shortcomings,” Galli told Lady Radio (via Fiorentina.it).
It’s recently been claimed that Amrabat’s entourage already met Jurgen Klopp to talk about a Liverpool move, although there haven’t been many reports about the talks between the club.
