Earlier today, Alfredo Pedullà stated Manchester United intend to raise the offer around €57-60m to sign Atalanta’s Rasmus Højlund. He also said the Serie A side are requesting €60m in fixed fee plus an additional €8-10m in bonuses for the striker.
TuttoMercatoWeb now state the 20-year-old is seen as a ‘perfect’ fit for the Red Devils as Erik ten Hag sees him as a ’20 goals per season’ striker.
Therefore, Atalanta rejected Manchester United’s first offer of €35m in June, and it’s now claimed the Premier League side’s €70m offer is set to arrive at the Italian club ‘in the next few hours’.
The English club’s latest proposal, as per the report, is set to be rejected again. Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi has already admitted they have no intention to let go of their star this summer.
TMW state only an indecent proposal would convince Atalanta to change their stance, which is why they now want €90m for the Denmark international, with this seen as their ‘real request’.
Højlund’s contract is until 2027 and his employer are of the belief his valuation could rise further should he continue at the club for one more year.
TMW state Manchester United, who will still try to negotiate, will likely see their next offer get turned down.
