Sheffield Wednesday are one of the options that Moussa Doumbia has to sign for this summer, according to reports from France.
Foot Mercato journalist Sebastien Denis today shares a tweet explaining the player’s situation, as the winger has been a free agent since leaving FC Sochaux at the end of his contract last month.
It’s said several clubs have been interested in Doumbia lately. Saint-Etienne even made a contract offer, while Al-Fateh in Saudi Arabia and a club from Arab Emirates are both in discussion to get him.
Regarding Sheffield Wednesday, it’s claimed that the Owls have ‘taken information’ about him.
Doumbia had joined Sochaux as a free agent last year, and having signed a one-year deal, that’s the whole time he spent there.
In his season at the club, he had 13 goals and six assists in 35 appearances, and his good numbers are probably the reason why he’s now searching for a better opportunity.
Sheffield Wednesday would certainly have a hard time to fight clubs from the Middle East, considering how much money they can offer him, but maybe the chance to play in English football could end up attracting Doumbia.
