For the past few days, Marseille have been pushed as a likely destination for Iliman Ndiaye, who helped Sheffield United get promoted back to the Premier League.
While the Senegal international could stay with Paul Heckingbottom’s side, there is a feeling he would like to return to a club he spent a year in as a youth player, and one he strongly loves.
That’s why an exit from Sheffield United is on the cards, and Marseille are working to get a deal done, even if it will come at a price, which has now been named by La Provence.
For a while now, there’s been a lot of talk of the player having reached an agreement with the Ligue 1 side, as reported on Friday by L’Equipe.
Despite all this, an amount for a transfer was never mentioned, but La Provence believe that Sheffield United will require ‘no less than €20m’ to let Ndiaye leave.
This would be a lot for Marseille, but despite the idea that ‘negotiations could be tight’, there is optimism that it could all be sorted in ‘the next 48 hours’.
