Sheffield United are in talks for the signing of Troyes striker Mama Baldé, according to today’s reports from France.
It’s L’Equipe who reveals the negotiations today, claiming the 27-year-old could soon be on his way to the Premier League.
The outlet writes that Sheffield United and Troyes are currently ‘talking’ about the move, discussing a fee worth over €6m.
The report highlights the ‘consistent’ season Baldé had for the Ligue 1 side last season, getting 12 goals and four assists in 35 appearances.
It isn’t very clear how advanced the talks for the move are, but it pretty much sounds like the amount negotiated is something that satisfies both clubs.
Baldé currently holds his peak value at Transfermarkt, standing at €8m, and has a contract with Troyes running until 2025.
In search for a new striker, Sheffield United had recently been linked to AC Milan’s Divock Origi, and now seem to be going after an alternative in the market.
Depending on how much they pay for Baldé, that could be their third most expensive signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Gustavo Hamer for €17.3m and Vini Souza for €12.5m.
