Following recent rumours regarding the future of Sheffield United striker Iliman Ndiaye, the French media today shows up with interesting updates on this situation.
First on RMC Sport’s website, journalist Fabrice Hawkins writes that the centre-forward ‘should stay’ with the Blades this season.
It’s claimed that even though Olympique Marseille had a personal agreement with Ndiaye for the transfer, Sheffield United are now ‘in the process’ of convincing him to stay at the club.
The story claims that promotion to the Premier League and and a setup where he will be allowed to stand out are the reasons why he ‘changed his mind’ about leaving the English club.
It’s added that his family ‘relies on stability’, and that helped with his decision, especially because he recently became a dad.
On Twitter, Fabrice Hawkins adds that Sheffield United offered Ndiaye a project where he’ll be a ‘centrepiece’, and that was apparently crucial for his decision.
That’s big news for Blades’ fans, because last week, things seemed advanced, with a meeting take place on Friday evening.
The English club had been demanding €20m for the sale, and now it seems they’d rather keep him than to make that money.
