Sheffield United’s Vinícius Souza is on his way to VfL Wolfsburg this summer.

At the weekend, we covered claims from Brazil that he’s set to undergo medical tests with the German club at the start of this week. That hasn’t happened so far.

On Monday, AZ/WAZ reported Wolfsburg can quickly reach an agreement with Sheffield United for the midfielder’s transfer. They also stated he’s set to be their next signing but it wasn’t clear when the 26-year-old will undergo medical tests.

Brazilian journalist Venê Casagrande took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report the latest on the Sheffield United player.

He claims the Brazilian ‘will report to Wolfsburg on Thursday’. This indicates Vini Souza will have to undergo medical tests and sign a contract with his new club within the next 72 hours. The South American will sign a five-year contract with Wolfsburg.

According to Casagrande, the Bundesliga club will pay €15m to the Blades, without specifying whether that’s including or excluding bonuses. He further adds the Championship club will be entitled to receive 15% of profit from a future sale.

It’s to be noted Casagrande’s claim is yet to be backed up by in Brazil or Germany.

Vini Souza played 38 games for Sheffield United last season.
