Earlier on Friday, we covered a story from La Provence regarding Marseille’s attempts to sign Iliman Ndiaye from Sheffield United.
The Ligue 1 side want to bring the forward back to the club many years after he played for them in their youth academy, and the player is said to be keen on the move.
Convincing him wasn’t very difficult, with multiple claims that he has already agreed terms with the French club, but the difficult part was still to come, with the two clubs having to find a common ground on the fee, which could happen tonight according to journalist Papa Mahmoud Gueye.
Taking to Twitter, he claims that a meeting has been set up for Friday night between Sheffield United and Marseille to ‘negotiate the transfer’ of the Senegal international.
While the French side and Ndiaye already have an agreement, the feeling is that the upcoming chat between the teams could have a ‘decisive impact’ on a potential transfer.
In short, it seems Sheffield United are bracing themselves ahead of losing the player, unless, of course, Marseille don’t come anywhere near the €20m they are said to be requesting.
Un rendez-vous est prévu ce soir entre Sheffield United et l’Olympique de Marseille afin de négocier le transfert d’Iliman Ndiaye. L'issue de cette réunion pourrait avoir un impact décisif sur le transfert.
